How does it work?
The most common question we get asked: how can a race night help me raise money?
Well, it's easier than you think!
Best of all, it'll cost you absolutely nothing to get setup.
1. Setup
Create your races, for this example we'll create 8 races.
2. Race sponsorship
Ask local businesses, or people with money burning holes in their pockets, to sponsor a race.
They'll get to pick:
- Pick the name of the race.
- Add their logo, or image of choice, to be shown during the race and on the race cards.
- All good advertising for them!
8 races at £25 per race nets you £200!
3. Runner sponsorship
Ask friends, family, colleagues, or local businesses to sponsor a runner in the race.
They'll get to pick:
- Pick the name of the runner - which is shown in the race and on the race cards.
- Win a £10 prize if their runner wins!
8 races, with 8 runners each nets you £320!
Total profit so far: £520
4. Order your race night
We give you 1 weeks access to play the races as many times as you want during that time.
You can use this to get familiar with the races, or practice being an announcer/commentator.
You pay out £50
Total profit so far: £470
5. Place your bets
It's race night! Before each race the audience can buy tickets for the runners.
Each ticket sells for £1, with a generous audience you can make £200 or more a race.
You'll keep half of the money from tickets, the rest is paid out as prizes. Anyone with a winning ticket will get a share of the prize money.
You'll also need to pay out the £10 for the sponsor of the winner.
£200 collected in ticket sales, £100 for you, £100 for prizes. If 5 people win, that's £20 each. If only 1 person wins, that's £100 for them!
8 races earning £200 each comes to a grand total of £1600.
Minus half (£800) paid out as prizes and minus the prize for the sponsors (£80) nets you £720
Total profit so far: £1190
6. Final race auction
Before the final race you hold an action for each of the runners.
The incentive? The owner of the winner will get 50% of the money raised via the auction!
You auction each of the runners for a total of £800. You earn £400 and the lucky winner gets £400!
Total profit: £1590!
